Saw this listed on EB just now and not only have I never seen one, but there seems to be a following. What a unique locomotive. Looks like a three way horse race at this point.

Have not seen one in a few years, but several years back these seemed to rotate through eBay fairly regularly as did the SMR reject versions.

You'd think these would have limited appeal give era but then the collector mentality kicks in and off it goes....

Yes, I think it is really, really cool, but I would never buy one. But, it's part of early brass history so it intrigues me.

I have one that's been sitting here for way too many years. Built by KTM and imported by Max Gray. It actually was a display piece on Levon Kemalyan's desk. I was given the task of getting it running.

I believe it was a display piece because it wouldn't run. Two drivers were way out of quarter but I'm sure, as the owner of Kemtron, fixing that wouldn't have been a big deal. I took care of the quartering of and I then installed a Sagami can motor along with a NWSL gearbox. Actually runs well now.

I really need to get this thing painted & decalled so it can be returned to it's owner before one of us croaks.

Jay
