Carrying case might be a deal if it doesn't go too high. Seller calls it used. Maybe they couldn't spell abused. No thanks!

It's worth it to the right modeler if it stays reasonable. Lots of detail.

I could fix it. But PSC used very thin sheet metal, and the price is already at my max, and hasn't met his reserve. Never understood the concept of bidding up to a reserve.

It was imported by PFM. Way ahead of it's time. Some ran noisy, others really well.

I may bid on it. If someone else wants it, let me know and I'll bow out. I have numerous spare cabs. Smoke box? No big deal. The basics are there. Carrying case? I could care less about. All of my models appear to go into storage anyway.

Interesting.

I see potential, and a challenge.

But to have the handrails on the boiler and the piping buckled....the damage is far deeper than cosmetic.

Maybe a SC boiler and cab on it?

the damage looks like it was dropped. There could be considerable damage to the frame and mechanism. The motor mounts could be bent or broken. the axles could be bent. The damage probably depends on how far it fell.

It is a real fixer-upper/gamble. The tender looks OK. The loco is not worth much to me, maybe 25-50. It is closer to JUNK than JUNQUE.

I actually saw an engine that looked like that years ago.
Sumpter Valley, behind the engine shed. Cab bent up like that, piping and handrails bent.
Good unit to put as-is behind YOUR engine house!
