Looking good Terry, your attention to details is impressive as well. Some questions-
I don't recall the how the roof opening for the dome on that one MAC 2000 series NP/GN dome car that went your way looked.
Was it machined correctly? The example in your first post looks a tad uneven but I'm not familiar with the actual car, despite having actually enjoyed a trip in one in 1964 on the IC's City of Miami. Did you have to cut the roof yourself? If so that had to be fun (not)
Also, did you score enough NCL decals for the project? Likewise what are using for the two tone Loewy paint scheme?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Cutting the windows is a giant pain. The dome opening goes relatively quickly, if you measure carefully. Nice work. I love dome cars.

I believe Mr. Debruin that I scored uncut blanks from you and Haynes MacDaniels and could come up with just 3 slab sided blanks. They went to Ted at OK for machining into 2 Pullman sleeper domes and the blank I got from you was machined into NP dining car #460 which I believe is still in service on Amtrak. Teds fixture is a little different so rather than ruin the blanks he left me some filing. No 2 domes solder together the same any way, so best to sneak up on it and file to fit. I'm torn between using the plastic domes in pic, but have to come up with a way to get apron curve correct. Those are Atlas parts and they missed it on the dome apron and I believe that 3rd rails new Empire builder shipped out the same way. Don't know for sure but different manufacturers Pullman, ACF, and Budd had different dome profiles
Decals can be had from Rich Steele at La Belle I need to contact him and pay for a run of 25 or so, as for paint I'm going to try Tru Color and bake ala Bob. If that's not to my liking Scalecoat in a rattle can and bake.
I've spent a lot of time so I cant just rush to finish em, What 3 years know and still going. over that time I've sourced parts for most of the weird stuff that ran on the North Coast.

Did you cut all the side windows by hand?

Mr. Robert, I sent the blanks to Ted at OK engines they make the Kaisner aluminum cars that are still in production. The Kaisner blank is a little different than a Mac shops or Mo line so he did the sides and the majority of the dome opening rather than ruin the blanks. These Budd slab sides are hens teeth to find. Plenty of Dome coaches but the Pullman sleeper dome is a bear to acquire.
I figure about 10 hours for 2 cars with a file
