Kraut Voith transmissions with torque converters powered by trans-shafts, perhaps not too far from truck mounted "tower" drives in design/location, their crews purportedly leery of those big honking drive shafts turning under the cab floor fearing a catastrophic failure. The earlier DRG&W demo version is interesting too, but always liked later the American-ized version better, and yes pre-date SD-45's by 5 years.
Personally, sorely impressed and humbled by your work on these "busy" car bodies in process here; the truck frames are really cool too.
