Okay. E6 and E7 sides appear identical. As soon as I hear from the foundry I will let you know. It has to be at my cost - this is Scott's artwork, not mine.

On the Erie steps - I need to get some square tube to get these things more rectangular - but this one is solid brass, held together with a couple toothpicks, soldered, and photographed. Close, but that rung is crooked.

Note that photos of F-Ms seem to indicate this same rectangular appearance - they may have welded square tube.

Here is a lousy photo of the patterns. The lower one has Keil-Line window frames, and still needs four little openings and one plate added. Then it gets much thicker, and off to the foundry, I hope. More on the Foundry when I know more . . .

These steps are just glued on, but the hole is drilled for 0-80 attachment. The Atlas steps are three bucks each plus shipping, and I don't know if they are plastic. These match the photos I have of the MKE version.

The corrugations continue under the upper headlight. I am thinking about it. I will drill for handrails and horns, open (ugh) those windows, sand a bit, and paint maroon and orange. Probably have to make decals - Bob Anson is my go to guy for that.

Bob, this is such a cool project; I have to ask if you're intending to take it all the way to paint, window glaze and decals.
I noticed with some of your other steam and diesel motive power projects that your enthusiasm wanes some time after the carbody or chassis-boiler-tender phase is completed. Verdad?

True. I think. My goal is often just proving I can do it. The Erie-Built is in gray primer, with windows opened and holes drilled for handrails. I may shoot orange this week. Window glazing almost never.

I have the Bi-Polar bodies, and am thinking about truck sideframes. 28 journal boxes and leaf springs, 12 spoked wheels - a daunting task, even before thinking about power. After that, I may tackkle the Skytop lounge. That almost has to have glazing. A challenge for the very finicky.

E7 sides are at the foundry.

Getting ready to spray - it will be your brother’s Scal Coat Orange, then probably Cornell red or some mix. I will have Callie Graphics do the cigar band.

Next project will be mock-up Bi-polar trucks. I have Noel Hollings’ book, but am seeking close up photos of trucks on the better brass models. I considered using the MTH parts, but they look pretty thick and mostly ugly. Also not sure of the pivotof the center section - I am guessing that king pins as close to the bulkhead as possible are the key?

Orange went on just like I remember good old Scale Coat. Dead match for the really nice MTH colors. Took me a while to find the air brush - turns out I had cleaned it really good the last time I used it. Thanks, Jim!

Callie Graphics is going to do the cigar band on chrome vinyl. I can give her the general idea, but if anybody is aware of unwrapped artwork, steer me toward it. Billy Davis may have some insight; I shall contact him.

Bob -- You might try contacting Steamstyle Graphics. They show the Milwaukee Erie-built on their website, and I know that Allan Wehrle once talked them into doing an O-scale version of one of their HO decal sets.
