Forum moderator II

Postby rogruth » Mon Aug 13, 2018 9:23 pm

FM II,
Question. You have made one post. A test. I guess it was OK. Will you make any more?
This is something that has always bothered me ever since I became aware of forums.
Why do people bother to go through registering and then make no or only one post?
If you are a forum moderator why not introduce yourself? Some of us here may even
be friendly.

My feeling is that this post is a waste of time but I don't care. I don't have anything
else to do. But it is a serious question.
    :D :D :D

Some sad news about Model Train Journal's founder
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17806

Bill Lango went to heaven on June 29, 2018 at the age of 74, surrounded by his family.

Lee (one of Bill's sons in law) is Moderator 2

The forums here will continue to chug along. I'll moderate them (let's try to keep on topic) as best I can and if you see something that is a concern, let me know (I'm "moderator2"). Right now MTJ is faced with an onslaught of Russian bots trying to register for the forums, so that's been occupying my time.

Thanks to Hondo for this info, I think.
Very sorry to hear this as Mr. Lango gave us a forum on which we could really express
our views about almost anything as well as trains and toy trains.
I hope this forum will continue in the same style.

Totally agree.
As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

Me, too. Far too many American forums err on the side of censorship. We recognize the importance of freedom of speech.

Not sure how to approach this but as I recall Bill was paying for this forum out his his pocket. Don't know how the rest of you feel about this but I would be more than willing to contribute money to keep the forum going if Lee would do it.... :D

Float it by him and see what response comes back.

How did I come up with the idea that Bill Cole was the forum owner and moderator? Never mind, don't answer that. :D

Hello,
I didn't want to break anything! As mentioned in a previous post, the intention is to keep the forum and site continuing.
