The News recently had that 67 home entries and yard/deck roaming-around have occurred in Connecticut recently. Many more are anticipated now that the weather is warming up.

A 74yr old woman walking her dog in Connecticut was attacked by a 250lb Black Bear yesterday. Incidents like this are expected to increase in frequency as the bears emerge from their Winter rest and search for food constantly.

Black bears used to be considered a pretty docile sub-species, but it seems the airwaves and webpages are full of harrowing encounters between them and humans. What's going on? Are we encroaching on them, they encroaching on us, or just the same level of encounters that are now being videoed by iPhones, doorbells, security cameras, etc.? Same with mountain lions/cougars out west. Maybe they've become emboldened having watched too many episodes of Nature through suburban windows.
