When Tucson Water first introduced Colorado River water into the water system, all our iron and steel pipes sprung leaks and were replaced with plastic pipe. They replaced the one under my street first, then my own pipes started leaking. I now have all copper and brass on my side of the water meter. So a major source of iron has been eliminated in Tucson. What would be the source of aluminum? Tucson Water claims the lead and copper source is from household plumbing. I wonder who's house they are getting their samples from? Arsenic, copper and lead source is from our highly mineralized rock strata. That is why there are so many copper mines around Tucson. My source of information about rock strata and water contamination is the Bureau of Land Management Tucson Field Office. (Who should I believe, the Feds or the City?)
The HAAs are a by-product of chlorination. Here is the list:

Hey, I was just getting interested in this oil discussion. I've been running Mobil 1 in everything, changed out religiously at 6,000 miles. Ran a pair of Toyota Corolla's out to 157,000 and 227,000 miles each on this regimen. The oil-life indicator on the Saturn and the BMW suggest a much longer service interval but I'm not buying into that.
In the Sprite I'm running 20W-50 Valvoline VR1. The car gets maybe 300 miles on it each summer. How often should I be changing this out? Annually? Sarge and I have talked about this...even though the mileage is really low it seems reasonable to change it out every twelve months, but maybe that's wasteful/unnecessary.
