Jon, the tower looks great. Two thoughts: I wonder if a more scale snout might not give the tower more of a feeling of size, and don't the bands usually increase in closeness toward the bottom of the the tank because of the increase of water preassure?

That there tower be looking GOOD!!!

I have a photo of the tower at Cass, I'll post it later, the bands are really visable as how they get closer towards the bottom.

Daisy, here's the pic I promised yesterday. It's a bit old (20 years to be exact) but she hasn't changed much (I've just gotten uglier)

Yep- I overlooked the "bands"!!! I've got more that I can add to it. I did'nt really notice the spout being out of scale, I found this one from Grandt Lines Does it look better? Or would there be another source for one besides Grandt Line? Thanks for the input!!

Jon, I'd go with the Grandt Line spout. Do they have turnbuckles for the bands?

Tramp, yes. They have these in o-scale. Man, I'll order the parts tomorrow!!!

On the subject of the Water tower spout, did you consider fabricating one from brass? Look over the K&S metal selection atr the local hobby shop or hardware store.

Jon, I think that with all the work you've put into that tower it deserves the correct spout. The details make a lot of difference as we well know.

Cheers on the beer. First woodstove cooking of the year tonight.

Does anyone know which MR or other mag might have had plans for a wood water tower?

ANG what a cool photo! That engine's killer with that amazing patina, it really has a great presence to it, doesn't it? And you two have matching shoes! Very cute. Do all your shoes match?

ps. dinners have been insanely good 2 nights now - Tramp cooking both while I lounged around the house drinking and playing with catnip mouse etc. First the "Greek Style Squids" then last night the wood-stove swordfish. Maybe explains my bizarre dreams of floating through pink clouds then landing on top of huge fir tree only to be picked up by a diving tern and swooped down into a little cabin where a shadow show was going on on the walls projected by the front light of an approaching diesel train engine through the woods.
