Rufus, Udo? Dirkschneider. Nice Accept quote too. Got a tour story about Wolf , Udo, and a groupies cat. Man Omaha used to be wild, its a wonder I'm not dead. No cats were harmed in the story maybe shaved but not harmed everybody else was scratched up pretty badly.

She actually does have considerable talent but to compete in today's world of stupidity, one has to appeal to that level of stupidity. Look at the success she has had - you know who she is and I'd wager you own a whopping zero amount of her music. Remember, there is only one thing worse than people talking about you, and that there not talking about you (if I may borrow from Mr. Wilde.).

I entered the address, found the little "gingerbread man" in his corner, moved him to my old address, and VOILA! There I was at the old homestead. Thank you , thank you, thank you!

Not quite correct. I have been forced to witness her "machinations" when her face is shoved at us on the News, in mercifully brief clips that feature her tongue licking at the world, unsolicited (at least, on my part.) Do you mean you missed all that?! Her childhood image was certainly methodically wiped away.
And that's all I have to say about that.

Maybe taking up a hobby would be good? I understand that model RR'ing is a good way to focus one's thoughts in a contemplative and therapeutic manner.

I also advocate visiting the library, collecting a grocery bag of fiction for purely entertainment purposes, and to direct one's mind away from the rest of the world's foolishness.

Yup! A good book that provides entertainment is hard to beat!

Fortunately, I still have the books my parents gave me when I was a boy, for Christmas. They were my best and biggest gifts and easily the most memorable. The topics were usually the Universe and Natural History. Nice, huh.

P.S. My wife and I have three armoires in or home filled with books, though we try to make it a habit to gift books to others when we have finished with them, especially to the children in our family. What good is a book on a shelf? It is better off in new hands.

P.P.S. As a boy , my folks would let me go, with my friend (the boy with his hand on my shoulder in that photo I shared previously,) on our own , via "street car" all the way from our suburb to the Carnegie Museum, in Oakland, Pittsburgh. Our favorites were: the dinosaur exhibit; Egypt; architecture; sculpture; the new and surprising (for the time) Calder works, hung here-n-there throughout the edifice.

What good is a book on a shelf? It is better off in new hands.

Preferably in hands that will both appreciate it and hold it to read it.

I rarely buy books anymore and make heavy use of the county library. There are few that I find worth the combination of ownership and storage. On the rare occasions where I need to buy a book to complete the reading of a series of books, I donate those books to the library.

Here, the school library took them until the librarian that I knew retired and the new one wasn't interested.
I took some to the public library and without even looking at the titles was told that they would be sent to the
auction and new books would be bought from the sale. These books, except for having been read once by me,
were new. So the libraries don't get them.

In central bucks people are placing free libraries in their front yards. They build a little fancy display case and fill it with books. You can take a book or put one in if you like. Our library system wont take books.
