Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Strong stuff.

Thanks, Chuck. That news is a recommendation, as far as I am concerned. So, let's see: Pepper Spray on belt - check. Wasp Spary - check. New can of Bear Spray on belt - check!
I'm ready for Springtime adventures. Now, if somebody will come up with an effective protection against all the ticks that are spreading thicker throughout Pennsylvania and New York, etc. I'll be ready for my next nature-walk. Sort of.
Or shall I just stay in the car? :?
If so, I might as well simply stay home and look at old photos of Upstate NY's Brake hill Road, outside Cortland.

Do farmers worry about ticks?

Yes. And the ones I know are frustrated/annoyed/angry by the lack of any real progress on addressing treatment of Lyme disease while it still is effectively an epidemic.

I'm noticing a distinct paucity of children and adults at that party. There must have been something off-putting about that special guest. Let's ask good ol' Rufus. He'll know what it might have been. :|

Everyone left and took the seat cushions with them because you were not there to subdue the bear by reducing it to hysterics with your trusty bag of oranges.

Make sense to me. I knew you'd come thru with the right perspective. Yup. In fact, your reply is so refreshing, I'm going to coin a new term for such shenanigans: Rufusense. See? Now aint dat nice?! :D

Of course, I lack all rufusense. I think the key is the brownish pool water color.

I noticed that, too, and assumed it was bear grime from his bare bear  hiney. The kiddies couldn't hav been that grubby. Maybe. Sort-ah. (I'm having second-thoughts due to my reflecting on my own play-in-the-dirt kidhood: always new foundations being dug and new houses being built in da' hood, so every day was a dirty [in a good way] adventure.)

I doubt he's as persnickety as the bears on TV who "enjoy the go", selling toilet paper. In fact, it appears he enjoyed the go directly in the pool.

Possible, but unlikely. Humans tend to embrace that behavior. Also note that the area in the photo is unpaved and dirt. More likely Murph was playing in the dirt, rinsed off in the pool, upon sighting the approaching bear fled the premises in search of his bag of oranges....

And I, too, live inside me and very often don't know who I am,
I know, I'm not a hero, I hope that I'm not damned
I'm just a man, and killers, angels, all are these,
Dictators, saviors, refugees
In war and peace
As long as Man lives
