Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas have some seriously high numbers of cases......and then there are a few others not far behind. Correlates well with low vaccination rates in those same states.

Both of the hospitals in Springfield had Covid wards last year. about 2 months after the first o the year they closed them down because they had no patients. Both of them are back in full operation. This delta variant really spread fast. It's not the politicians that are a problem. It's social media. Idiots would rather listen to their friends than the experts.

As soon as we could my mother in law and I went and got our shots. I am happy that is was the Moderna vaccine

Funny story. Last Christmas when visited with our kids in Kansas . My son's wife was very adamant about not getting the shot.
They were over here 3 months ago and i found out that she went and got the shots. I asked my son what changed her mind.

She wants to go on a cruise this fall to the Caribbean and she found out she couldn't go on the ship unless she had the shots.

They just came back from Jamaica with 7 other couples. They have all had their shots. Couldn't go unless they the did,,,,

US judge upholds Indiana University vaccine requirement

A federal judge has refused to block a university's requirement that students be vaccinated, in what is believed to be the first such ruling in the US.

Indiana University's policy says that students, faculty and staff must have Covid-19 vaccinations by 15 August.

Eight students had sued to have the rule scrapped, alleging it violated their right to make their own choices.

But the judge disagreed in his ruling, noting students have other methods to avoid vaccination.

In their complaint, the students alleged that their constitutional rights to "personal autonomy" and to reject medical treatment were being trampled.

US District Course Judge Damon Leichty found, however, that the school's policy does not amount to forced vaccinations.

The judge wrote that the students have a number of options open to them, including applying for medical deferrals, taking a semester off or attending another school. Religious and ethical exemptions are also available for students to request on the university's website.

A series of recent coronavirus infections among vaccinated athletes and government staffers has focused attention on an apparent rise in so-called breakthrough infections. But while cases involving fully vaccinated people have increased in recent weeks, experts say there's little reason to worry.

A game between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox on July 15 was postponed because of multiple confirmed breakthrough cases. A few days later, Kara Eaker, an alternate on the U.S. women’s gymnastics team who was vaccinated in May, tested positive at an Olympics training camp in Japan.

And this week, government officials announced that a White House staffer and a senior communications aide to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., had tested positive even though they had been fully vaccinated.

The cases came on the heels of positive tests for six members of a delegation of Texas Democrats in Washington, D.C.

Little reason to worry if you are vaccinated. Vaccinated folks can test positive transiently, but the vast majority do not get sick, and almost no one gets hospitalized or dies.

There is greater reason to worry if you are unvaccinated and in the higher risk groups related to age, immunosuppression, obesity, etc. Which is why the vast majority of experts in infectious disease and public health are pleading with people to get vaccinated and get their children vaccinated, if possible.

Vaccines reduce infections, but mainly what they do is prevent illness and death due to infections.

2 guys that work with me do not have immigration . Both were able to get covid vaccine shots. Neither one has a vaccine card.
