As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

The suspension bridge looks to be just for pedestrian traffic An elaborate bridge just to walk across.....
Get some good exercise walking up and down those stairs. Not for the handicap.

Yes and yes. And looking across the river, the elevation there is much higher.

It actually rises up behind the photographer as well. There is the canal and the main line railroad tracks (double track) hidden in the trees at the base on the far side. Picture is looking almost due east across the river from a shelf of land that is now an industrial complex on the west shore in West Easton near 1550 Lehigh Drive. There is another post card that shows the pedestrian crossing is narrower than it looks in original one Rufus posted. The site is now a power line crossing that runs from Adamson on the west shore to Nesquwhoning on the East. There was a second bridge just to the east that went from high bluff to high bluff .

Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Interesting group. All brass with the exception of the lone clarinet and two drummers. Must have been fun trying to march in those long skirts.

In Elizabethtown, Pa - I had posted up a few cards of the Masonic village there and I now wonder if this card belonged in that group - wives of Free Masons??

Another valid possibility, yes.
