...I am not into motorcycles ... but I enjoy reading about them from the members that are.

Some of my happiest times were when I would ride my Honda NightHawk 550 circumnavigating Manhattan and across the GW Bridge during the Summers of the 70's.

That does sound like fun.

I've never owned a motorcycle in my life....

You would be correct. Back in 1978 I had a Honda 50cc for a couple of months. We had a motor home and I had enough vacation time to take a month and tour the midwest. I bought the Honda from a guy at work for $150. I made a mount for the back of the motor home to take with us in case we needed some transportation in an emergency. Sold it when we got back so I only had it for a couple of months. It was that trip that convinced us to leave California for the midwest.
Looked like one of these.


A couple of events in my life kept me from getting involved with motor cycles. When I was in high school my best friend had a Ariel motor cycle and I used to ride it. My friend got banged up on it one day. The 2nd event is more psychological than anything else.

We had a family that lived across the street from us in Garden Grove. The family was into dirt bikes and riding out in the desert areas. They had 2 boys and a girl. On a Friday night the youngest boy (15) brought his bike over to me to help fix it. It had a cracked frame. I made some gussets and welded the frame for him. The next day they were out riding in the desert and they went up some road. On the way back someone had put a cable across the road and he ran into it and it killed him.

What haunts me to this day is that if I had not fixed his motor cycle he would not have been able to ride it and would still be alive. This event happened after I sold the Honda.

It looks like Trump will be getting another SCOTUS appointment. They will be voting tomorrow.

Libs so afraid that Roe Vs Wade will be over turned. Never going to happen. The only way would be if scientist determines life begins at conception.

If you've been interested in the second SCOTUS appointment since Justice Kennedy announced his retirement, then you may remember the Democrats holding the signs with the "fill in the blank" space because they were going to fight any and every nominee that the President would put forward. (Resist, obstruct, obfuscate, it's what Minority Leader Schumer has called for since the Republicans took both houses). Then Senator Feinstein pulled the eleventh hour resistance with the letter and the charges of rape from Dr. Ford, (who did not want them public), and the circus began. Now the country is ripped apart by the Democrats and their cohorts in the Media, because unless you listened to Fox News or One America News or the BBC, America never heard that the so called witnesses denied that it ever happened, and then we find out that it was Feinstein who recommended the lawyer for Ford, and why would they process the case ProBono? Because they are all Democrat activists.
On a much better note, I gotta say a few words about Senator Susan Collins. I've had my differences with some of her political opinions (and votes) over the years 'cause she's a moderate Republican and I'm so conservative, but yesterday in her presentation to the Senate in her support for the candidate she was forceful, measured, and deliberate in her defense of the rule of law and that an accusation without evidence, confirmation, or proof is no reason for conviction. Senator Collins may have saved the Union; at least from the Mob rule that the Democrat Activists are practicing. It was a powerful speech.

Kavanaugh seems to be pretty moderate in his conservatism. However, I think, or hope, that his treatment over the past weeks will inoculate him from "growing."
Looking forward to the next opening (maybe when it's discovered that RBG really doesn't have a pulse), when PJDT nominates a fire-breather.
