There are quite a few rather large and imposing houses about the county.
It's been quite a spell since I was in that neck of the woods, but it was my impression that time had passed the place by (and that is NOT meant as a negative). I found the place rather fascinating.
Parts of Franklin Co. are such that if there were no vehicles present that it becomes hard to be sure of when you are.....many 200+ year old houses that recall scenes from that period. Factor in Amish and horse drawn filed equipment, you step back in time easily.
And then you are regaled with the passage of the offal trucks from the corporate pork farms up the road and snap back to current times....
I know now that I should have bought every possible adjoining available property to my own.
