Sarge, that 356 body is bothering me. Here's why. The bent windshield changed to the curved windshield between 1955 and 1956, but the signal lights do not have the horn ring grills, which were added in 1954. Please explain.

But it's got a very efficient after market air conditioning system,

Damd if I remember, if I'm honest.

Many odd things can be seen when they are in that part of the build when they are coming apart.

It was on the way to the diptank, and you can bet the A/C was even more effective when it came back!

Obviously not the place to look any more than Barrett Jackson; highly inflated prices for the unaware or to make deals behind the scenes whilst getting an investment price on record. A 914/6 for over $100K?

Go look on Craigs, use some skills rather than being spoonfed a show/investment car by the toffs for their benefit not yours, and get something you can drive. I do notice you can get a 911 for less than a sorted 356, so perhaps the fun of a 356 that needs sorted...

The show-collector-argyle sock crowd seem to think cars need be perfect over-restorations to be worthy, a very narrow view that commands a "price" often artificially gotten. Their game their rules, I guess.

In the real world, a car that needs a little attention or a good wake up is more fun, since that really is what we did back in the day. We worked on 'em and drove 'em. We didn't stuff and mount them, then trade them like gold-bars. There is a large part of the curve where play-value goes up as snob/exclusivity melts away.

Perhaps, but I see more tricycle cycles on the road now than ever before.

I find bemusement a skill that needs little practice.

I wasn't aware it was a skill as much as an art form not unlike derisive sarcasm......
