[quote="webenda"Edit 1: Removed WM 0-6-6-0 photo because valve gear was not even close to subject of this discussion (my mistake.)[/quote]
Could you please re-post the 0-6-6-0? I am a Wild Mary fan and really liked that photo. TIA.

The Western Maryland Railway had a small fleet of 2-6-6-2 locomotives which, at one time, were the heaviest locomotives in the world, weighing 264 Tons. They were all converted to 0-6-6-0 locomotives for heavy switching.

As I recall, International Hobbies imported a model pretty much like that. A friend of mine, master brass worker, completely redid his and turned it into a jewel, even if the brass thickness doesn't measure up to Turner's standards

IMP imported a 4-4-2 and it was just as horrific as advertised with a stamped frame and no bearings. I almost have bought one several times knowing full well it's short comings.

I believe that in a day or 5 that a representative photo will make an appearance here,

I don't recall what Jeff did about the frame (this was 40 years ago). The total extent of his trackage was a 10' test strip. Anyhow, on the robustness thing, many beautiful objects are fragile. Appropriate care in handling understood.

Probably an earlier 4-4-2 than the IMP model now that I look at it as the drivers actually extend above the running boards and then even into the cab. I may have another photo about; we'll see...
