Don't look like black walnut. Could possibly be English walnut or Claro. At any rate, expert craftmanship!

Not what wood that is - looks European to me....but yes, lovely how someone fitted the grain into the mirror image pattern & style throughout.

Far beyond anything I could have imagined on my own. But does it have a point? (Not that it needs to, beyond the joy of artistic exercise.)

The shape reminds me of a viola, cello, or maybe a string bass.

Wisteria looks nice when it blooms. Other than that you can have and burn it to ashes. I had one seriously kick my arse. Threw me to the ground and knocked me out. 100 percent my fault. I could hear it pulling a branch down. As I stood in our driveway. I could hear something cracking. It was from the wisteria pulling on a large maple tree. Like a hawk i spotted the problem. A wisteria vine pulling a tree branch towards the ground. What an easy fix. Cut the vine. So off i went for something to cut . Right there starts the series of bad ideas.
Standing in the shed i saw a shovel. That's a better idea. Dig it out at the root. so it won't come back. With shovel in hand I went for the vine. Last thing I remember. was a friend picking me up from the ground. When snapped its root. That root shot right up to my chin. Like a sling shot the upper tree branch sprung back. Pulling that vine at a high speed into me. can remember hearing the crack of the root and a sound of a bow being shot. It happened so fast. It gave me a fat lip and made me dizzy. :o :o :o

And attracts lots of bees,  It is hard to control and requires pruning.

Robert, That was , to me, an amazing story . Thanks for sharing that, which was about something totally unfamiliar to me. Sounds like a basis for a fun sci-fi movie .
