But Rex makes an interesting point, too, as we (some of us - well, two or three of us) exercise our intellects and imaginations about something not an everyday sight to us. About dams, I know zero (except for their spelling). Beavers, literally, know more than I about them. So, I offer conjecture and marvel at answers by guys who know more, or at least, know differently than I.
