I had forgotten about the heater door. You got a good memory for an old guy.

Remember some cars had a lever down near your leg to open a door in the side of the car that blew air on your legs? And there was another lever operated door in front of the windshield that opened to give you full air-conditioning.

They must have been truly awesome. I believe some folks felt Packard as superior to Cadillac, back in those days, for a while. I'm not sure where Lincoln fit into that mix, but I believe Clark Gable had an elegant coupe he liked a great deal.
