Well, Daisy, because they are destructive rodents that dig holes and burrows and undermine the entire property if left unchecked. Tractors have been known to upset with serious injury to the operator when the whole friggin' ground caved in under a wheel on the side of a hill. Cattle and horses break their legs in the holes in fields and pastures.
Don't worry about them, though. They are prolific breeders, and some become wily enough that you never get 'em all.

Why do we kill them? Now that is a good one that no true country person would eve have to ask. Though some of my friends have been known to eat them.
A simple thing is that they are one of the most destructive pieces of crap alive. I guess you can tell they have done a real good job at times on the barn foundations. I can't figure them out I kill around 100 plus a year and there is no end in site of them.
Well I'm into the heat of AAU Basketball so needless to say I'm getting a good tour of the East Coast. I don't have much free time to talk trains or even make it the forums.
