Rail related videos, do they deserve a sub forum?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Sow8O1_ZNA&frags=pl%2Cwn Here's a great video on rail communications. Should we have a separate form just for links to videos?

Just prototype stuff?
Can't hurt.

As the literacy rate declines, you’ll ask yourself why the quality of life continues to deteriorate in ways large and small, and in almost every instance the answer will be: because people stopped reading.

I'll second that. There is a lot of great stuff out there.

A third from me.
IMHO anything that will help promote model railroading in any way.

I thought we already had 'sub-forums' for this: ->
index.php
the second, and third from the bottom,
both relatively 'unrun' (unused).
(They have been used more than the Standard gauge Forum, tho.)
Peace, &
HAPPY HOLIDAZE TO ALL!

Maybe the ones with zero or near zero use should go away....

Maybe rename the Ebay subforum to Videos. I genrally post Ebay stuff to the type of model forum it is (2 rail, 3 rail) and put Ebay in the Title in case some are not interested in viewing Ebay stuff.
Healey posts to the Large gauge forum occasionally

Or the Resources subforum - sees just about zero use.
Or the Buy/Sell/Trade subforum -- as much as some might find it important, it sees just about zero use

Mr. Moderator, Anything happening here? A Christmas present for all?
Re: Rail related videos, do they deserve a sub forum?
For thought and discussion:
How about fewer sub-forums and more storage instead?
Regarding the former, things like eBay tend to get discussed on the main modelling forums so why not just clean things up and ditch what doesn't see use? Folks here really don't "compartmentalise" their thoughts and conversations, so providing compartments might be considered a waste anyway.
Subways and Standard gauge have a following, along with 2-rail, 3-rail, Club car. The bottom five really don't have a passion to them (not vote count, but people who have a passion for the subject). Support could merely be an email link and the rest already get discussed within the first five as whim strikes.
One I would then add as an experiment after whacking those five would be "Prototype"; vid links would naturally fit there but also include other media and comment.
Regarding video, other than pointing out links there isn't much else one could do; we don't have the storage for stills anymore let alone vid. Storage strikes me as the low-hanger to improve things and attract folk, not more subforums when experience says half of them are not of interest.
Again, for discussion and thought.

Good points, Sarge. Now how to make it happen?

I have NO issues with any of the above. The links would avoid copyright issues. All we really need is a title and what's on the link which should save a lot of space. Be nice if there were a way to keep the Links/topics in order.

One hopes that the OP checks back, reads through these posts, and makes a decision or 3.
