Never had black hair in all of my existence across all of space time....my natural red burns through no matter where & when I travel across the multiverse, ....

I find it interesting when we sometimes get mental pictures of folks we have never seen in person, obviously erroneous in this case, but a phenomenon nonetheless, IMHO. I'll bet every one of us on this forum has formed some kind of image in our heads of those with whom we have been conversing, yet haven't seen.

For example, I had images in my head of The Dirt before I met him, in person, at that tractor-pull last summer, though aided and abetted by a few partial shots posted on the forum, as a bit of a Clint Eastwood (in "Bridges of Madison County.) I have seen what I assumed to be Frank 53's hand in one shot of his on-going layout work; him I have a "picture" of as having salt-n-pepper hair, worn longish, though pushed back around the ears, looking something like Robert De Niro; Daisy was a picture in my mind not unlike the one she posted at Christmastime this year. Mitch I saw as looking a bit like part-Peter Fonda, part-Dennis Hopper; Jlong like Gregory Peck (in "To KIll a Mockingbird.") Roger as Henry Fonda/Ozzie Nelson blend; AG - before the Christmas self-reveal - I "saw" as similar to the young Al Pucino.

Rufus, I had a picture in my mind of you as being similar to Joe Jonas (Jonas Brothers) in his early-40's. (However, there is an avatar on OGR that I have wondered if it were you, due to a similarity in slogans, from time to time.)

Oh well, that's just a few musings I thought I'd share, if just for conversation-sake.

While I am on OGR in a completely different incarnation and while also "slogans" and "signatures" are similar on tone and tenor (a fondness for Melville, or to sleep perchance to dream?), any avatar of me anywhere is pure creative license, wishful thinking, or a coincidence in resemblence to anyone real or imaginary, dead or alive.

Clearly working in the home office promotes a certain wandering of the mind & spirit beyond its normal boundary conditions,

And, of course, Murph --> STOOGES!

My sole resemblance to Eastwood is my nickname (which I love, because I got it from Hev).

BTW, FWIW just so there's no confusion, that video, though it was tagged at the beginning and end as being 'Country Joe and the Fish', was actually done by 'Fraternity of Man'. Country Joe did a 'cover' at some point, but that link was the original.
Whomever put that video on YouTube had obviously just finished a doobie of his own!

I am afraid you will need to expand the envelop of your imagination. The images that you see from time to time are a bogus persona that, by necessity, I have had to create for the internet. I even had to hire a ringer to go up and meet Mary and Wayne in L.A. one Christmas. Circa November 15, 2004, in the matter of a Buick Roadmaster and a hearse, I had to make a painful confession to a lounge denizen.

I was sorely disappointed that the plight of my kind was completely ignored in last night's SOTU address. The nerve of those people.

Life has been hard for me. While pursuing higher education and graduate degrees, I was always in mortal danger of being locked up in a lab somewhere on campus, drugged, and probed for something or another. Military service was challenging. "Don't ask, don't tell" was not a concept at the time and would not help, even today. My most recent difficulty was getting B&L Bikes to accept my AMEX card for the purchase of a Specialized Roubaix carbon fiber road bike. You cannot mail order such vehicles in California and must purchase them in person. Fitting and adjustment of the bicycle was somewhat beyond the fit kit specialist at the store and I had to ride off with the wrong seat height and unadjusted SPD pedals.

My entrance into a brick and mortar train store usually causes more consternation than Father's Day in Oakland. Everyone eyes me as if I am going to steal something, they refuse to serve me, and other customers evacuate the area I am in. Like I have pockets or somewhere I could hide something, right? Thank goodness for the anonymity of mail order. We (my kind) do collect and run O-Gauge. Gibbons mostly stick with Post-War, but we chimps really appreciate the detail and computerization of the most recent manufacturer offerings. Tell me this. When have you seen the free-thinkers even provide an oval of track to our incarcerated brothers at the zoo? Needless to say, I have little use for Republicans or Democrats.

P.P.S. That removal of a woman's face and hand by one pissed-off chimp in New England has, likely, set the chimp-cause back quite a bit.

BTW, how are your balls,
after that ill-adjusted-seat-n-peddles new bike ride? Don't forget what happened to that Olympic 'cyclist after all his years of sustained roll-roll-roll-roll back-n-forth over his bike seat. One-nut-per-sack just doesn't look right (IMHO ) and no-nut-at-all-empty-sack looks like something of a tuck-under for a cross-dresser (I would imagine.) Don't over do it.

Mississippi Fishing

Highrailjon was stopped by a game warden in Central Mississippi recently with an ice chest full of fish. He was leaving a cove well-known for its fishing.

The game warden asked Jon, "Do you have a license to catch those fish?"

"Naw, sir", replied Jon. "I ain't got none of them there licenses. You must understand, these here are my pet fish."

"Pet fish?"

"Yeah. Every night, I take these here fish down to the lake and let 'em swim around for awhile. Then, when I whistle, they jump right back into these here ice chests and I take 'em home."

"That's a bunch of hooey! Fish can't do that."'

Jon looked at the warden for a moment and then said, "It's the truth Mr. Government Man. I'll show ya. It really works."

"O.K.", said the warden. "I've got to see this!"

Jon poured the fish into the lake and stood and waited. After several minutes, the warden says, "Well?"

"Well, what?," says Jon.

The warden says, "When are you going to call them back?"

"Call who back?"

"The FISH," replied the warden!

"What fish?", replied Jon....
