Bob,
The wiring arrangement is so simple and reliable. Thank you for keeping your eye on the prize with the Bipolar project. This is all very good info.

Re: Possible Icken NYC Northern on the Bay
Bob,
I think you’re right; it appears to be more likely MG. Found some photos of a very old MG Niagara and most of the details match.

Possible Icken NYC Northern on the Bay
I have a couple Fred Icken KTM locos with upgraded gearboxes. This loco on the Bay looks like a scratch built Icken based on the gearbox appearance. I know for a fact that Fred Icken built a few of the NYC Northerns. Will try to find my Icken catalogs this weekend. https://www.ebay.com/itm/305485341...

The forgotten heavy electrics of MTH
Anyone out there run the big jackshaft electrics made by MTH in 2004 such as the PRR L-5 or the FF-1 aka Big Liz? I think MTH is the only manufacturer to make these in O scale, albeit 3-rail.

Bob,
I love the weathering. I share your interest in bicooastal motive power, but I rarely see any ATSF from you except your modified scalecraft cast ATSF Mikado boilers. I would like to some ATSF Pacific or Northern from you.

Bob,
Paint job looks great. What brand of paints are you using these days?
I surmise that you are using Pilot Paint Pens. The only thing I could find out about Pilot paint pens is under the odd name “Juice Paint.” Makes it sound like it’s potable.

Re: 2R Stout Auction - 10/26/2023
It was an interesting auction. Since I work during normal hours it really is hard for me to participate. Seems like people with flexible schedules or retirees are the main clientele. Dollars to doughnuts this auction would be more successful in the Evening or weekends.

All these renditions of a Scalecraft Mike body look fantastic even unpainted. How in the world did you stretch the body? Bronze pipe? Where did you get the Dean crossheads? Your pics are always inspiring.

Bob,
That Mike looks great. Yep I am aware of some of the unusual tenders of the ATSF with Pullman truck. That tender also looks very nice.

Re: Box Pok Pacific?
Bob,
Are you referring to the class 900 2-10-2? No one has ever done that one in O scale. If you need drawings, I have the Ellington book on ATSF locomotive drawings. I can make a copy for you. Perhaps I can finally return a favor.

Re: Gary Schrader Passes
This is very sad news! Gary was a great person and advisor in O scale. I always made it a point to see his home layout at OSW. He always was patient with my questions. He will be missed! His passing is a huge loss to the O scale community.

Re: Box Pok Pacific?
Beautiful! I thought the Lobaugh Pacific had alligator crossheads? The apparent Laird crossheads makes one think of ATSF.

Re: 2R Stout Auction - 10/26/2023
Unfortunately, I was one of the people who bid up on the Lobaugh Northern. Sorry Carey. BTW, a Scale Craft 4-8-2 sold recently at Trainz for around $800 in worse shape than the Northern. Compared to that, the Lobaugh was a true bargain. I was kind of surprised at the price of doorstops on this aucti...

It’s all great stuff! Including the slide valve switcher and Pacific. That straight boiler pacific is really appealing. I would engage in some real barter to obtain, even as a kit.

Re: Cab Forward 2023
Bob, Thank you for reviving this thread. I love Cab forwards! The MC-6 seems the more unique to my eye since there have been variations of the others in past production. I like the weathering on all the pieces. Given the amount time, talent and dedication to build these locos, they are works of art....
